Today, we’re announcing the availability of the Azure Native New Relic Service in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace to help accelerate cloud migration and multi-cloud initiatives. Microsoft Azure customers can now subscribe to the New Relic service to collect telemetry data for applications and infrastructure and store that telemetry data in Azure. In addition, Azure customers can allocate their multi-year committed Azure spend to leverage New Relic, making it significantly easier to set their budgets for all-in-one observability.
Our 2022 Observability Forecast revealed that most organizations expect to have robust observability practices in place by 2025, with multi-cloud migration cited as one of the most common trends driving the need for observability (42%).

Store your telemetry in Azure

Pay with Azure MACC Credits
Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) is a commitment to spend a certain amount on Microsoft Azure services within a specific timeframe. By subscribing to the Azure Native New Relic Service through the Azure Marketplace, you can contribute your New Relic spend to your Azure commitment.
Your New Relic billing will be consolidated with your Microsoft Azure spending and available through your Microsoft Azure account. By consolidating both bills, you can easily track and manage your Microsoft Azure and New Relic spend in one place, making it easier to budget and plan for future expenses.

Subscribe to the Azure Native New Relic Service
- Before subscribing, you’ll need to have a Microsoft Azure account. An advantage of subscribing through the Azure Marketplace is the ability to set up a free New Relic account or purchase New Relic through the marketplace. This makes it easy to start with New Relic and integrates seamlessly with your Azure account.
- Find us in the Azure Marketplace by searching for New Relic and selecting and subscribing to the Azure Native New Relic Service.
- You can also subscribe from the Azure Portal.
Our Azure integration consolidates Azure Platform Logs and Azure Monitor Metrics and sends them to New Relic. You get complete observability of the Azure resources your applications use inside the New Relic platform.
Install New Relic agents easily from the Azure Portal
After you set up the New Relic integration, you’ll need to deploy our infrastructure and APM agents to get a fuller view of your stack, and it's easy to do so right from the Azure Portal.
To deploy the infrastructure agent, navigate to the Azure Portal and:
- Make sure you already have virtual machines running in Azure.
- Go to the New Relic resource you created when you subscribed.
- Select Virtual Machines on the left panel.
- Select the virtual machines you would like to install the New Relic infrastructure monitoring agent on.
- Select Install Extension.
To deploy the .NET or Java agents, navigate to the Azure Portal and:
- Make sure you already have .NET or Java applications running.
- Go to the New Relic resource you created when you subscribed.
- Select App Services on the left panel.
- Select any application you want to install the New Relic APM agent on.
- Select Install Extension.
Configure resource monitoring in the Azure Portal
You probably see a theme here—you have control of resources you want to monitor right inside the Azure Portal, so you don’t need to navigate between multiple tools. Go to the Azure Portal and select Monitored resources to see all resources you’re monitoring and their status.
With your telemetry data flowing into New Relic, you’ll have a complete observability platform to resolve issues faster than ever.
